Reasonable Enough
Â
Navigating the ADA and PWFA with Clarity
Â
When: July 16, 2026 at 1:00PM EST (via Zoom)
Accommodation requests don’t always come in a clear or formal way—but once they’re raised, how you respond matters.
Between the ADA and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA), employers are expected to recognize when an accommodation may be needed, engage in the interactive process, and respond appropriately. The challenge is that many managers don’t realize when that process has been triggered—or how to handle it once it has.
In this session, we walk through how to identify accommodation requests, navigate the interactive process, and evaluate what is considered reasonable. You’ll learn how to approach these conversations with consistency, document your decisions, and avoid the common missteps that create risk.
This session is designed to help you respond thoughtfully and confidently—so you can support employees while maintaining a clear and defensible approach.
This session is for you if:
- You’ve received a request for an accommodation and weren’t sure how to respond
- You’re unclear on when the ADA or PWFA applies
- You want a clear process for handling accommodation conversations
- You’re responsible for supporting managers through these situations
Accommodation issues often become problematic when they aren’t recognized early or handled consistently. Missing the moment when the process should begin—or responding without structure—can create unnecessary risk and confusion for everyone involved.
