I'm Latisha Newby
When I first started my career in HR, I had no idea I would one day be running my own consulting business. Like many professionals, I followed the traditional path—earning my degrees, gaining experience, and climbing the corporate ladder. But something always felt off. I saw firsthand how businesses struggled with compliance, leadership, and employee engagement, and I knew I could do more than just advise from within a company. I wanted to create real solutions that made a lasting impact.
So, I took a leap. With a deep understanding of HR, employment law, and business strategy, I built Cultivate HR Consulting—a firm designed to help small businesses navigate HR challenges with confidence. It wasn’t easy, but through strategic planning, execution, and resilience, I turned my expertise into a thriving business.

My Story
I always knew I wanted to go far in life, so I worked hard to become the first person in my family to earn a graduate degree and a law degree. My passion for growth and impact led me to earn a Master of Science in Human Resources Development from Villanova University and a law degree from North Carolina Central University—all while working full-time and raising a family.
Determined to deepen my expertise, I also earned my Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and SHRM-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certifications, reinforcing my commitment to excellence in HR strategy, compliance, and leadership development.
